Testimonials
Michael is a fascinating speaker, who speaks from experience of the realities and challenges the world faces. His informative and entertaining talks also feature highlights from his adventurous career as a photojournalist. His topics include: International Affairs; Meeting Challenges & Overcoming Obstacles. Michael illustrates his compelling presentations with his vivid images.
Saxton Speakers Bureau - Winston Broadbent
Michael's style was both informative and witty. In rating the 10 years of guest speakers attending our annual meetings, without hesitation I would rate Michael number one.
Australia Building Services Association
Michael's presentation and photographs were amazing. We really enjoyed his stories and hearing about his experiences in some fairly remote and dangerous locations around the world. Our audience was spellbound and had many questions for Michael in the end.
ANZ Investment Bank
On behalf of the P.H. Committee and myself please accept our most sincere thanks for your presentation at our "Together in Success"; Convention in Vietnam. Schwarzkopf Professional over the past 25 years has produced many great Conventions and this has to be rated as one of the best.
The delegates have expressed their gratitude and I know that as a result of their attendance and participation they will all be on track to increase their effectiveness and grow their businesses. Michael, your presentation generated great comment and was extremely well received by our delegates. Your warmth coupled with your compelling stories and obvious passion for life gave our delegates a greater understanding of the images that touch their lives on a daily basis.
Thank you for your preparedness to join our delegates during our breaks and dinner. This gave a personal touch with the great opportunity for our delegates to have a personally signed copy of your sensational book. Your ability to relate shared experiences in an inspirational manner was a brilliant way to commence our Convention. Once again thank you for a job well done. I know that all of our P.H. members will remember their time in Vietnam and your presentation has guaranteed a greater business future for all of our delegates.
Schwarzkopf Professional
Michael Coyne had us enthralled and entertained with his stories, images and passion for life.
Phil Whelan - RTHK Hong Kong
Dr Michael Coyne, has shared not only his wealth of international experience as a world leading documentary photographer, but as a reflective practitioner and keen observer of humanity, he has shared his soul. Captivating his audience of photography students at RMIT with extraordinary images and stories from his journeys into many of the photographically significant places of the world, Dr Coyne's honest and forthright views have been of immense importance to the next generation of photographers.
Dr Les Horvat Academic Director - PSC
They say a picture speaks a thousand words. I say Michael's lecture at the City Festival 2009 spoke a thousand pictures. His presentation was both vivid and gripping as he shared his experiences (some life-threatening) as a photo-journalist with the audience.
Michael was also very generous with information on how to work professionally as a photographer. Among the packed audience, some had come specially for this. And, I believe, they were not disappointed.
Benny Chia Artistic Director - Hong Kong Fringe Club
There was no doubt that people were challenged from Michael's presentation yesterday and thanks for all your feedback. I enjoyed his constant reference to the power of relationship in building bridges and earning trust.
Wayne Dyson - BRIDGEWORKS
Such a great experience which has really enlarged my view of the outside world and encouraged my exploration in photography.
Hu Jiaxing - Ecole du Louvre, Paris
The soul of Michael is full of humanity, leading us to believe, fight and change!

Gerhard Joren - PhotoZero Bangkok
I wanted to sincerely thank you for the brilliant talk you gave to the Photojournalism students last month. It was really beneficial and much appreciated by the students and myself.
Melanie Faith Dove Lecturer/Photographer - Photography Studies College, Melbourne
Speaking as the organiser of the event, your observations were of immense value. The perspective you shared with us on the life of a photojournalist coupled with your easy good humour made for a very entertaining and instructive speech. You added insight and credibility to the whole event. We look forward to working with you in the future.
Kodak Australia
Thank you Michael for sharing genuine enthusiasm, skill, talent and expertise. You have inspired us all!
Suzanne Goodwin Assistant Principal - Albert Park College
The audience sat transfixed throughout Michael's presentation and he was just right for this particular audience.
Abare Economics
Michael was an enlightening speaker whose words and images took us on a fascinating journey to a different perspective.
ANZ Bank
I have truly been inspired by your photography- both the aesthetics and the highly personal, sensitive approach you have to photographing the people and situations around you. And I hope that I can take some of the lessons you taught us- about compassion, and respect for others, and the need for interpersonal skills- and utilise them more in my own work.
Kate Dwyer - Student at Photography Studies College, Melbourne
Michael entertained, astonished, surprised and confronted us! People were speechless - for a short time - and then they couldn't stop talking about the images that Michael shared with us. We were truly privileged.
Avenel Primary School
Michael was a very interesting and great presenter and many delegates enjoyed is presentation.
CPA Australia (Vic)
Michael made the audience feel as if they were on location with him. He made the far off places seem very live and real to the ordinary Australian - not just some place/event on the news.
Faulding Pharmaceuticals, VIC
I would like to sincerely thank you for your contribution to our program with your keynote address. We have had many congratulatory comments on your presentation and it added greatly to the overall enjoyment of the weekend. Your ability to get to some of the places you did was a credit to you. It was a most enjoyable and entertaining talk with many fabulous photos.
Rotary International
I have a new vision of life and love of photography after being at the workshop with Michael, thank you.
Abbay - Micro Media Workshop, Philippines
Not only is Michael's photography extraordinary in its technique and his ability to capture the humanity of his subjects in the most horrific of circumstances; but his first-hand accounts of bearing witness to the tumultuous events of the late 20th and early 21st centuries are truly insightful.
Kristina Perez PhD - Student at Hong Kong University
It was a great honour to have Michael Coyne, Australia's leading photojournalist, come and give a lecture at RMIT for Applied Photography. Michael gave an overview of his life and work and answered many questions. He can explain photography at many levels catering for the beginner to the student to the professional in a down to earth, engaging and inspirational way.
Students always comment on how open and forthcoming Michael is about his life and work. I can always tell when a guest lecturer connects with the students as they ask questions both during and after the presentation. And even now more than a week after Michael's presentation my students are still talking about Michael's work with awe.
What more could you want.
Guy Little Photography Lecturer - RMIT University
